Interested in being on the HER Foundation Board?
The HER Board meets quarterly and aims to have an annual meeting in Los Angeles. Board officers annually evaluate the number of members and needs of the Foundation to determine if additional members are needed. HER aims to have a board with diverse skills and backgrounds from finance and business, to technology, policy and health care. All HER Board members have experience with HG and a passion for the cause.
New members are invited as the need arises, though anyone may email the Foundation a resume for consideration. Member qualifications include willingness and time to participate in quarterly meetings, capability to initiate and contribute to projects monthly and as needed, ability to attend or support medical conferences or HER events, and skill and/or education that offers substantial value to the mission and goals of the Foundation. Board applicants spend a minimum of one year actively participating on the Advisory Council before being considered for promotion to the Board of Directors.
The HER Foundation is committed to diversity and encourages applicants from underrepresented groups and also desires applicants from outside of the US. HER has a global vision and endeavors to support and improve the care of all with HG.
The patient voice is key to shaping HER's goals, and represented by daily engagement with the HG community and the personal experience of HER leadership with HG.
