Suzanne Drapeau, MFA
Suzanne Drapeau is our Communications Coordinator and has been a HER volunteer since 2004. A three time HG survivor with two sons, she recently added a daughter to her family. She is an active volunteer as well as staff and views supporting other mothers as a chance to pay forward what was given to her when should found HER.
In addition to becoming our first part time staff member in 2019, Suzanne teaches courses in college writing, college access, literature, and race/ethnicity in SE Michigan. She holds a BA in Political Science from the University of Maine; an MFA in Creative Writing from Emerson College; and was working on her PhD at the University of Minnesota when HG changed her plans. She is a certified Microagression Training Facilitator at the University of Michigan.
