Meet Our Team

Suzanne Drapeau is our Director of Global Engagement. She has been a HER volunteer since 2004 and became the first paid staff in 2019. Suzanne holds a BA in Political Science from the University of Maine; an MFA in Creative Writing from Emerson College; and was working on her PhD at the University of Minnesota when HG changed her plans. She teaches at Detroit Community High School in Detroit, MI, and has contracts at Mott Community College in Flint, MI, and the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, MI.

Suzanne is tasked with managing social media and website content for HER and 1 MOM is 2 Many and engages with our communities through eight social media platforms. She helps to develop and manage global partnerships for HER Foundation, Ambassador Council, and volunteers. She also collaborates with the team on fundraising, strategy, branding, and the daily administration of the Foundation. She remains an active volunteer as well as staff and views supporting other mothers as a chance to pay forward what was given to her when she found HER.
