Suzanne Drapeau, MFA
Suzanne Drapeau is our Global Engagement Director and has been a HER volunteer since 2004 and became the first paid staff in 2019. Suzanne holds a BA in Political Science from the University of Maine; an MFA in Creative Writing from Emerson College; and was working on her PhD at the University of Minnesota when HG changed her plans. She teaches writing at Mott Community College in Flint, MI, and the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, MI, where she is also a certified UM Microagression Training Facilitator.
Suzanne is tasked with developing and managing our global partnerships for HER Foundation and our collaborative campaign, 1 MOM is 2 Many. She manages social media and website content for both brands and engages with the HER/1MOM communities through six social media platforms. She collaborates with the team on fundraising, strategy, branding, and the daily administration of the Foundation. She remains an active volunteer as well as staff and views supporting other mothers as a chance to pay forward what was given to her when she found HER.
