HER is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit charity registered in the United States (since Sept 30, 2002) in the state of Oregon. Our Federal Employer Tax ID number is 71-0912435.

The Hyperemesis Education and Research Foundation's mission is to provide Hyperemesis Gravidarum (HG) support, advocacy, education, and research to improve treatment and outcomes.

The HER Foundation is the global voice of HG which means we serve those facing HG across the globe.

Recently, we have helped families in Australia, Brunei Darussalam, Canada, Colombia, Croatia, France, Germany, Indonesia, Israel, India, Malaysia, Norway, Oman, Portugal, South Africa, Tanzania, United Kingdom, United States, Vietnam, and Zimbabwe. See who visits our website here.

Co-founder and Executive Director Kimber MacGibbon, RN, leads day-to-day operations under the guidance of HER's Board of Directors who meets quarterly.

In 2000, Kimber MacGibbon, RN, launched the first website for Hyperemesis Gravidarum on the world wide web. She also began collaborating on research with Dr. Marlena Fejzo. Then in 2001, Kimber met co-founders Ann Marie and Jeremy King. The organization became a 501(c)(3) in September, 2002.

Over 90% of HER's funding comes from the community in the form of individual donations. The remaining funding comes in the form of grants from organizations like the Bikja Trust.

The HER Foundation offers evidence-based tools for HG treatment that expand on the guidelines established by the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG). Our research contributes to the guidelines that are made on HG but HER is a nonprofit organization and does not set guidelines. Medical societies set guidelines.
