HER Board Members Lead Study at USC

HER Board members, Marlena Fejzo, PhD, and Patrick Mullin, MD, are running the first study of GDF15 in Hyperemesis Gravidarum (HG) patients in the United States at County USC.

Nausea levels and GDF15 levels will be measured several times over the course of the patient’s hospitalization. The study will determine whether GDF15 levels correlate with level of nausea in patients hospitalized with HG. If there is a correlation, it will add to mounting evidence that GDF15 plays a critical role in HG and may lead to better therapies.

Dr. Marlena Fejzo, Dr. Joel Sanchez Mendez, and Coordinator Serina Ovalle kick off the first GDF15 study of patients hospitalized with HG at County USC.
