*An artist statement is a concise, often personal, piece of writing that helps viewers understand the artist’s creative process, intentions, and the meaning behind their work. It’s essentially a short introduction to an artist’s work, explaining why they create (definitely in relation to HG), what they’re trying to say, and what they hope the viewer will take away. State why you’re making art – to deal with the symptoms of HG. Explaining your thoughts about all your work, not one piece.
** Bio is a concise account of an artist’s life and career, often used to introduce them to audiences. It’s a narrative that highlights their artistic journey, background, and accomplishments.
