Mother’s Day: Honoring the Strength Behind the Struggle

Mother’s Day is a time to celebrate the love, resilience, and sacrifices of mothers everywhere — but for those who have endured or are enduring Hyperemesis Gravidarum (HG), it can also be a day full of complex emotions.

HG is more than “morning sickness.” It is a life-altering, often traumatic condition that can leave lasting physical and emotional scars. For many, it turns what should be a joyful experience into a fight for survival — for both mother and baby. The journey is isolating, exhausting, and all too often misunderstood.

This Mother’s Day, we recognize the unique strength of HG mothers:

  • The ones who have fought through relentless nausea, dehydration, and hospitalizations
  • The ones who have made heartbreaking decisions no mother should have to face
  • The ones still grieving losses or navigating postpartum recovery
  • The ones parenting through trauma while trying to heal

Your courage, your voice, and your story matter.

At the HER Foundation, we see you. We honor every step of your journey, whether it was one pregnancy or many, whether you are still in it or reflecting back. You are not alone.

As we celebrate motherhood, let’s also raise awareness, offer compassion, and advocate for better care for all who experience HG. Every mother deserves support, not just on Mother’s Day, but every day.

Happy Mother’s Day to all the warrior moms. We honor you.
