Kathryn Clarke, DNP, RN
Dr. Clarke is a dedicated nurse leader and advocate with over a decade of experience as a registered nurse. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Simmons College in Boston, a Master of Science in Nursing from The University of Texas at Austin, and a Doctor of Nursing Practice from Virginia Commonwealth University.
In her current role with her state’s medical association, Dr. Clarke leads efforts to shape and advance health care policy with the goal of improving health outcomes for all Texans. Her work centers on empowering physicians through thoughtful, evidence-based policy development and fostering systems that support high-quality, equitable care across the state.
A passionate advocate for maternal health, Dr. Clarke draws on her personal experience as an HG survivor to raise awareness and promote improved standards of care for women experiencing complex pregnancies. She actively champions policies that support maternal mental health, access to prenatal care, and protections for vulnerable populations.
As a member of the Junior League of Austin, she extends her advocacy and service into the community, supporting initiatives focused on women’s and children’s health, education, and leadership development. Her unique blend of clinical expertise, policy insight, and lived experience informs a holistic approach to health advocacy that bridges the gap between patients, providers, and policymakers.
