Julia Moffett
Julia Moffett graduated from MIT with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and Engineering, and Political Science. After graduation, she worked as a Quality Assurance Engineer at Palantir, focusing on project management. She then transitioned to a front-end engineering role at Polyvore, which Yahoo later acquired. At Polyvore, Julia worked on a from-scratch rebuild of the mobile website (Node JS backend), worked briefly on the Android team, and helped maintain the desktop site.
When Julia became pregnant with her oldest, she went on disability leave due to HG. She did not return to paid work after her daughter was born. Julia experienced HG with her two subsequent pregnancies as well and is now the mom of three beautiful girls. She has done part-time tutoring and mentoring to keep her tech skills current. Julia has also taken on several volunteer roles. She is currently volunteering with the HER Foundation, maintaining the website and building an app using Flutter to help people track symptoms and improve treatment protocols.
