Kamiya Dawson
Kamiya is a rising senior at The University of Michigan majoring in Gender and Health with a minor in Sociology of Health and Medicine. She specifically enjoys studying maternal health through a sociology lens because she is passionate about the eradication of health disparities in the field. She has volunteered with New Beginnings Advocacy and Doula Services in Ann Arbor, MI, to provide transportation for local pregnant refugee women and provided many families with donated supplies for their new babies.
Kamiya is from the South side of Chicago, and in her free time she enjoys journaling, studying astrology, and biking in Ann Arbor.
