Maureen is a Certified Nurse Mid-wife, who works with a partner, Donna Burke-Howes. There are 3 OBs in the practice, one of them will be at the hospital when you deliver, and would perform the caeserean if one was necessary. Your regular appointments would alternate between the two mid-wives, the only times I've seen the OBs are: When in the hospital (both my mid-wife and the OB on call would stop in every day), and the day before my last delivery one of the OBs did a final ultrasound to "guess-timate" the baby's weight (because of the HG, they were afraid they might need to have a neonatologist in the hospital when I delivered).

This is my second pregnancy with HG. With the first, I also went through this office. They prescribed medication and would easily admit me to short stay at the hospital but didn't administer regular IV care or a Pic line until 20 weeks along. The second pregnancy I became ill earlier on and had to see Dr. Harling instead. He immediately looked at my charts, set me up an IV tube and scheduled an appointment for a PIC line for daily IVs and medicine. He was extremely proactive and caring- calling me after hours if he heard I was having a rough day and keeping tabs consistently on me. He was willing to listen to what I thought I needed and discuss ALL options. He is extremely professional and because of the treatments he started when I was so early on, this pregnancy is much smoother and has far less complications than my first. I HIGHLY recommend him.

Dr. Barbour was the only doctor I met who even knew what HG was. He diagnosed me with HG and said he would make sure I was okay before I was sent home from the hospital. Both he and an associate doctor, Dr. Catherine Nolan-Watson, were very compassionate with me and were the first people that acknowledged I had a real condition. Very caring and compassionate. Was willing to do what it took to make me feel comfortable and give me relief. Did an excellent job handling the insurance company and getting them to consent to pay for my zofran. Took lots of extra time with me and did extra ultrasounds to check my liver and baby after a high count of keytones and free or with little charge. Highly recommended.
