BetteHGSM defeats HG again!

Postby BetteHGSM » Jul 22, 2012 2:21 pm

On July 12th, I started my medically necessary induction at 39 weeks.

I had Hyperememsis severely, once again for this pregnancy as with my daughter and thats how we came to induction, after a preterm labor scare at 34 weeks as well as several weeks of sporadic contractions.

I started induction at 1.5 cm dilated and 50% effaced. I got my midline out and my peripheral IV line put in. They inserted Misoprostil into my cervix at 12:45 pm.
I walked like a mad woman for an hour with my husband and mum. I finally got quite tired and at my next cervix check I was almost a 3 and 75% effaced.

I spent the next 2 hours walking around my room, rocking in the rocking chair, doing anything I could to avoid the bed. I knew once I laid down, I was stuck there. They inserted a foley cather right after I was finished walking, into my cervix, to help me dilate to a 4/5.

I dilated to a 4 rather quickly, maybe an hour or 2? Then they started the pitocin. The left it on the lowest level forever as I had been having steady contractions ever since walking.

As the pain got worse and worse, I finally decided to lay down as I was exhausted. I got my EPI not too long after as the pain was becoming more and more intense due to the pitocin. I had a successful EPI this go around and was quite pleased.

Things started to shift around 3 AM on the 13th. All of a sudden I started getting intense pain in my bum....I recognized this from my labor with Mayah.
At 3:15 they checked me and said I was a 5. The pain was becoming severe. At 3:35 I was an 8 and by 3:55 I was a 10.

All of sudden I felt the need to push tremendously. The baby was coming at lightening speed and my nurse was telling me not to push until the doctor came ...I told her where she could put that idea quite promptly, as he was coming and coming now!

I started to push just as the doctors walked into the room, one hurriedly threw gloves on and in two pushes caught Mason, sunnyside up!

We welcomed Mason Timothy Daniel at 4:03 AM on Friday July 13th, 2012, weighing in at 7lbs 13oz, 21.5 inches long!!!

It was blessing having my HG Ladies go through another tough pregnancy with me...thatnk you for all of your love and encouragemnt <3
