Baby girl is here!

Postby krsweetpea » Jun 27, 2012 9:00 am

So I'd been having on again off again contractions since Friday, but not consistent enough to say it was labor. I had a baby shower yesterday evening and did enjoy it despite feeling yucky. I had been to the dr and was nearly completely effaced but still just a loose 3 cm. She hinted it could be soon but only joked about her coming in the next 24 hours.

Well... I was having contractions when I went to bed. I was able to sleep through for an hour and a half. At 12:30, I told dh he might not have to go to work... Then it really got going. I got in shower and hubby came and timed. They were lasting a minute and about 2 minutes apart. I stayed in while he called the doc, loaded the car and carried ds out to the car.

We met our pastors wife at the hospital. It was 1:20am. I went inside and continued laboring. Dh came in a few minutes later and next thing I know they were telling me I had to get l&d... I walked because sitting seemed impossible because of the pressure. They took me to the triage room and instantly checked me. I was 9cn with a bulging bag of waters.

So they rushed me on the bed to a real room. Soon I felt her crowning and pushed twice bringing her into the world. She is a glorious 7lbs 12.5 oz 19 inches of perfection. As soon as the placenta delivered I no longer felt sick.

Ironically though my first * foodment* was cheese and Crackers! *endfoodment*. I'll add they were the best ever!!!

What a perfect delivery! I can only hope that mine goes that well!! Congratulations again (I just posted in 3rd tri too), and I'm so happy that you felt so 'instantly' better. Now you can go celebrate with a special after-baby meal, right? I hope your recovery goes really smoothly and you feel full of life and energy again in no time! Good luck with Gabriella, and I wish you all the best all around! Just so happy you're done! Thanks for sharing this journey with me and for being a great support along the way!

Oh my goodness it is so amazing to eat....not being nauseous makes it clear to me by comparison how bad it was...

Baby and I are doing well. I think we will be going home today.
And yes I will post a picture or two after we get home. I've been using my phone and can't upload pics from it:(

Cute babies! Thanks for posting them! I hope your recovery is going smoothly and you're enjoying life again! I can't wait to be there in just a few DAYS! :D

p.s. that's pretty funny about the initials being GH.

So close, annecan!

I'm doing pretty well. Some baby blues but pretty mild. It's hot here so I haven't been able to go outside much. I'm planning a little get away to Seattle this weekend. I'm enjoying eating again! I also have to say that even with a nursing newborn, it's so so much easier to care for my son now then while pregnant.

Looking forward to seeing your announcement very soon!!!
