I had a baby this morning!

Postby gremlinsmummy » Jun 18, 2012 1:18 am

I survived! HG couldn't kill me, no matter how it tried... This morning I woke up, threw up for the last time at 7.30am, and my beautiful baby girl Rosalia Sophie Anais was born after less than 2 hours of labour at 10.42am. I spent the night in hospital getting ready for the induction, the OB broke my waters to kick things off at 8.10am, labour established around 9am, and she flew out a hundred miles an hour with four pushes soon after. She's 8lb6oz and 52cm, and feeding like a pro already. Her big sisters are on their way to see her after school.

I've already had a celebratory feast of *FOODMENT* a teriyaki chicken wrap, hot chocolate and a pink cupcake *END FOODMENT* and aside from being a little sore (her giant head gave me a small tear), I feel bloody fantastic!

Pics to come once I get home in a few days.

I also need to say a huge thank you to all of you for pushing me on when the end seemed too far to reach. It's surreal being on the same maternity ward where I was just a few weeks ago despairing about how sick I was, now I have the most perfect reward. You ladies held my hand and walked me across the finish line, and I am so grateful. For those of you still pushing thru, know that it is truly all worth it no matter how hopeless it seems. See y'all on this side, the view over here is pretty awesome! 8-)

Congratulations on the birth of Rosalia. Wow, that was a quick birth! Excellent that you have had a celebratory feast. You have fought and won against HG. Best wishes as you recover and enjoy your baby and HG-free life.

I am joining you soon...

Big hugs!

Not sure if you guys can see this but I set it to public so I think you should be able to? Will upload better ones off the camera when I get home, this is just off the iPad.

Yaaay!!!!! Congratulations on bringing Rosalia here into this world! She's precious!

What a great birth experience...wow! I can only hope my labour goes that quickly! Great job, and I'm so glad that you're finally able to eat and drink and enjoy feeling more normal!

Thanks for your support too through this journey. It makes such a difference to have people to "talk to" who understand what special kind of torture HG places on your life, and it's been great being able to come here and chat.

Take good care of yourself and baby, and get as much rest as you can with all those little ones around!

Hugs mama, well done!! :D
