Little Nathaniel is here!

Postby garnet » May 19, 2011 2:14 am <-- The birth story is here. :)

I am still in the hospital, and Nate is in the NICU, but we're both working hard to bust out of here.

The HG was gone as soon as feeling came back into my body after the (difficult) c-section. It's soooooo wonderful.

I am so in love with Nate. He filled a hole in my heart I didn't even know was there. <3

Wow! I thought looking at the photo (before reading the birth story) that Nate looked small. So glad he came out OK. Really hope he thrives in NICU so that he's able to get out soon and be with you! Bet it feels fantastic to be HG free :D

Wow he's so cute! I remember the feeling of having a baby in the NICU, but I'm sure he'll be out of there in no time! He's just adorable! Hugs to you and your family!

Such a beautiful little boy. I hope he's in your arms permanently very soon. Take care... if you feel like you need some support after the C-section you should have a local ICAN chapter or something nearby (you totally CAN be a VBAC rebel when you get to that point in your life!).

So happy to see you made it to the other side! All the best to you.

Wow, that sounds like a scary birth and that spinal is terrifying! Thank goodness he came out ok and is gaining strength! Congrats, Momma and I'll hopefully join you on the non-HG side soon! :)

Mommy to Ella (12/18/2008) and Kira (5/26/2011). Moderate HG both times 5 weeks until delivery.

Thank you all very much. <3

Nate is still in the NICU, with no estimate of when he can come home.
Of every possible scenario, NICU mom never once crossed my mind. 8 months of HG hell, and now I am home without my baby.

If you have any spare prayers or good thoughts, please send them his way? We are so ready to have our little boy home.
We visit him every day, we're given one hour with him out of his isolette. It's never enough.

Anyway, on a better note, life without HG is so wonderful. It went away as soon as my body got feeling in it again after that scary spinal. They all kept yapping about how nauseous I would be from the operation, and how I couldn't eat or drink unless it was ice chips, and I'm like, you guys don't even KNOW nauseous. I felt WONDERFUL without a trace of HG, and I wanted some damn food lol. :)

I'm healing well from the c-section, recovery is much easier than when I had my gallbladder out! Except for the actual time in the operating room, delivery went very well. My OB who of course had nothing to do with the spinal did a fantastic job.

Anyway that is my update, and I thank you all again! xo!
